About Us

St Mary's was built in 1981 to replace two former parish schools, St Joseph's at Ballycranbeg and St Mary's in Blackhall Street in the village of Kircubbin. There are currently 159 boys and girls in our school.

St Mary's is a co educational Catholic school for children of all faith backgrounds and abilities, where good behaviour and high academic standards are the norm. Our faith guides everything we do and more importantly the way in which we do it.

The formation of the faith in our young people and their social and academic progress is of course our primary focus. Rigorous procedures are in place to ensure that every child develops their God given skills and talents to the best of their ability. We are exceptionally fortunate to have such an informed, interested and able Board of Governors under the Chairman, Fr Neeson.

Finally may I encourage you to browse the various pages on offer to get a feel for what life is like in our community of St Mary's.

You are most welcome to visit the school either by appointment or by coming along to the many community events on offer throughout the year.

If you are the parent/grandparent of a current pupil or indeed a past pupil have a look at what we are doing now!! Your interest and support in the school is greatly appreciated.

You may be new to the area so why not drop into the parish Mass held in the assembly hall each Wednesday morning at 9.00 am. An increasing number of parishioners attend and there's a place for everyone.

If you are a prospective parent and would like to enrol your child at St Mary's at any time during the year please call to arrange this.

If you have any comments please use the Contact Us button to send them and I or a member of my staff will respond where necessary.

You may be interested in clicking on our Downlad Prospectus link below to view our E-Prospectus which has been made by our Primary 6 class using one of our i-pads. Please be patient as it may take a few minites to download depending on your internet speed!!

If I or my staff can be of any assistance to you please let us know. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy
