School Council 2018/2019
Letter to parents regarding assembly on Friday 5th October about School Council
Dear Parents,
As we have now settled into the school year; St Mary's PS seeks to develop a new school council for 2018/2019.
A School Council is a formal group of pupils elected by their peers to represent them and their views. Elected school council representatives will work alongside teachers to explore, problem solve and create ideas on how to enhance our school and assist in the schools decision making process.
The School Council will be made up of two representatives from each class in P2-P6 and four representatives from P7.
In order for your child to be selected for St Mary's School Council, children from P2-P6 must create a poster in order to canvass for votes (think about why they should be picked and any ideas/ changes they would like to make). P7 must create a two minute presentation (speech/PowerPoint/poster) explaining why they should be elected as a School Council representative.
The School Council election will take place on Friday 12th October in class. Each class will vote for their representatives.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish each child every success for the up and coming election and thank you for your continued support.
