P6 kick off World Space Week celebrations!
We had a fabulous day celebrating the beginning of World Space Week. We started off with some numeracy/art work.We then learnt about the contribution of women to space travel. We then tuned in to a live BBC Teach lesson with Dr Brian Cox.However the best was saved until the afternoon! Orla’s father visited and gave us a mind-blowing lesson that took us from the Big Bang right through to the exploration of space. We learnt so much about space travel, what happens astronauts’ muscles in space, how rockets work, about Einstein and Newton’s contribution to learning about space, satellites etc. Thank you so much Michael for a super informative, fun visit!!
