We were delighted to welcome Dawson’s family to school to present the PSG with cheques after their astonishing and generous fundraising efforts. See extract and image below from Ards Chronicle:
St Mary’s Primary School, Kircubbin Special Communications Unit have received cheques from local people. The money will help the Unit in partnership Autism NI to get additional training for teaching and support staff, also to provide extra activities for the pupils. Pupil Dawson Birch (whose family organised the fund raising) and principal Sean Ennis are here receiving cheques from Alan Lawther (Dawson’s granda), who presented £275 proceeds from a Dart competition held in the Sandpiper, Ballywalter and Peter Birch (Dawson’s dad) with a cheque for £4,376 from Battleborn Fitness, Ballywalter which raised the money through members running Belfast City Marathon. Also included are Caitrin Ritchie (Dawson’s classroom assistant), Libby Thompson (Dawson’s mum) Battleborn Fitness; Faith McAtamney, teacher; Audrey Hughes and Ashleigh Watson, St Mary’s Primary Parent support group.
