Shared Education Day

23rd Jan 2019

Well what a bit of organising that took but it was well worth the effort. Every child in both St Mary's and Victoria PS took part in Shared Education day today. Our Primary 1, 3, 5 and 6 pupils travelled to Victoria, whilst their Primary 2, 4 &7 pupiks came to us. The focus was not only on getting to know each other, nut also on spelling and phonics which both schools have identified as an area for development this year. All the teachers planned fun activities based on our class spellings and the children were very engaged. If you would like to see a sample of a P7 challenge look at their class page. Of course all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy or Jill a dull girl, so lunch time  and bonus round games helped make it even more enjoyable. All teachers report that behaviour and manners from all the pupils was of the usual super standard. Mr Michael Robinson our Shared Education lead at EA called to both schools and was very impressed with the level of co-operation between the pupils and staff alike.
